Is there really a perfect daily routine?
Online, we’re told that waking up at the right time, following the right schedule, or copying a “science-based” routine will fix our focus, productivity, and even our mental health. But neuroscience tells a very different story.
In this video, I talk about why there is no universal routine that works for everyone — and why chasing one can actually make anxiety worse. I share my own experience living with anxiety, struggling with predictability, and relying on to-do lists and routines to feel safe, while still having a hard time sticking to them.
Drawing on insights from neuroscience research (without oversimplifying or turning it into another formula), this video explores:
• Why “perfect routines” don’t exist
• Why skepticism matters more than discipline
• How anxiety drives our need for structure
• Why experimenting and observing yourself works better than copying others
• How simulation, reflection, and tolerance for ambiguity build real stability
• Why labels and rigid frameworks limit growth
• Why your own language and self-understanding matter more than any system
This isn’t about productivity hacks or hustle culture.
It’s about learning how to work with your nervous system instead of against it.
If you’ve ever felt like routines help you feel safe — but also make you feel like you’re failing — this video is for you.
