職人の道具【蒔絵】

漆（うるし）の木の幹から採取した樹液を木製の器などに塗り重ねて作る工芸品「漆器（しっき）」。

漆器の表面に漆で絵や文様、文字などを描き、それが乾かないうちに金や銀などの金属粉を「蒔く」ことで絵にする技法を「蒔絵（まきえ）」といいます。

今回はその、蒔絵技法に用いる職人の道具を少しではありますが、ご紹介いたします。

Lacquerware is a craft made by applying layers of sap extracted from the trunks of lacquer trees onto wooden vessels and other items.

Makie is a technique in which pictures, patterns, and letters are drawn on the surface of lacquerware with lacquer, and then, before the lacquer dries, powdered gold, silver, or other metal is sprinkled on top to create a picture.

In this article, we will introduce some of the tools used by artisans in the makie technique.
