Max (Taissa Farmiga from Higher Ground), Chris (Alexander Ludwig from The Seeker: The Dark is Rising), Gertie (Alia Shawkat from State of Grace), Duncan (Thomas Middleditch from Silicon Valley), and Vicki (Nina Dobrev from The Vampire Diaries) are watching two characters from Camp Bloodbath making out, before being murdered by the machete-wielding killer Billy Murphy. He simply stares at them, leading them to believe he will not kill them because they are not characters. Then Duncan attempts to take a selfie with him, only to be stabbed. The four others run.

What’s the The Final Girls movie about ?
Starring 30 years earlier in the famous low-budget horror film "Camp Bloodbath", Amanda Cartwright (Malin Akerman from Watchmen) dies in a car accident, leaving her teenage daughter Max (Taissa Farmiga from Higher Ground) alone. Three years passed and Max, now a student, agreed to attend a tribute screening of "Camp Bloodbath", now a cult film, organized by a fellow student. As the film passes in front of a few hundred enthusiastic students, an accident occurs and the cinema catches fire. It is then that Max and his relatives are inexplicably projected into the heart of the horror film.
