Gammon play reggae! Recorded in 1982, this would be labelled as 'cultural appropriation' these days.
Performed by three members of an English folk band, plus a guy who turned up to watch the threesome make a few amateur recordings, and fortunately brought his electric guitar with him.
Disorganised chaos, and the violin recorded using a cheap contact mic which went in the bin the next day, as it didn't pass the audition. But it was all great fun at the time.
Probably Jimmy Cliff's best known tune, and played here as a straight groove, without the 'blue sky' middle 8, which the folkies never bothered to work out.
Originally uploaded to YouTube as a sort of a tribute to Jimmy Cliff, who was mainstream reggae, bigtime, with many great hits to his name - but never quite as edgy as Bob or any of the Roots guys were.
Play loud, innit!!
