On our way through the forest we have gathered all the ingredients to prepare for ourselves a hearty, delicious meal. We start the mushroom soup by slicing the onions. To that we add crushed and diced garlic. We put everything into a cooking pot, which has been greased, add salt, and start frying. While that is frying we slice various mushrooms and toss them in with the onions; this time we have gathered penny buns, button mushrooms, and cantharellus. We add water and cook. While we wait for the soup to cook we prepare the dessert – elderflower frittes. The batter is made from eggs, beer, and flour. It must not be too runny. We dip elderflower blossoms into the batter and fry them in butter. To sweeten we add honey and then just enjoy the flavour.
