UNPACKING TOXIC SCHIZOID Traits In A Family Member | Into The Psyche

Sometimes a person in the family comes off as "bizarre" or "odd" or "abnormal" and most likely has more going on in their life than what meets the eye.

A toxic family dynamic, dysfunctional relationships, and poor or "odd" social behaviors can all contribute to the development of a rare disorder known as schizoid personality disorder.

What makes a "schizoid" personality "odd" or "bizzare" is that these individuals tend to function in a way that doesn't seem bizzare to them.

Only people around them are affected.

Schizoid personalities often:
-enjoy seclusion,
-may not exhibit a normal desire for intimacy or sexual connection, and
-may feel "turned off" by having to consider other people in the world exists besides just themselves.
