During a meeting with Ladakh representatives amidst ongoing protests, Union Home Minister Amit Shah proposed providing Article 371-like safeguards to the region. Shah assured the Leh Apex Body (ABL) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) that their worries regarding employment, land, and cultural preservation would be addressed. However, he clarified that Ladakh wouldn't be incorporated into the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
