News 5 at 10 - Remembering Professor Gilbert Adrian / March 25, 2014

It was sad day for many in the Hastings College community today. Professor Emeritus Gilbert Adrian died this morning. He was 85.

Adrian was a professor of biology and science education at Hastings College. The Korean War veteran originally joined the Navy at 15 years of age, serving both on the ground and at sea.

His influence has continued to be felt after his retirement through the Gilbert Adrian Biology Scholarship. Hastings College President Don Jackson and current professor John Kuehn say they'll miss their mentor and friend.

Some of the more famous students Adrian saw come through his classroom? Astronaut Clay Anderson. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Gary Anderson. And Doctor Tom Osborne.
