Ennavale from Kadhalan, reminds me of the inspired early 90s when there was a huge churn in the music that we were exposed to. A R Rahman at the top of his game, kept giving out super hit after hit, as directors and producers lined up the streets of Panchathan Studios to get an appointment with him. This song joined the likes of Muqqala, Petta Rap and Urvasi in treating us to a feast of tracks, all in brand new sound at that time!
Some years ago, when my musically aligned friends used to get into friendly Ilayaraja vs ARR - who was better verbal duels, we always wondered who would be the next big and revolutionary composer after ARR. Despite plenty of amazing music releases since, I'm not so sure we have seen any revolution in the film music scene yet post the 90s. What do you guys think?
