5DEV Crank Testing with Maximillian Mitchell - 5DEV Crank Strength Test

In the early to mid 90's the sport of mountain biking exploded in popularity. At the same time the Aerospace industry slowed down a bit due to budget cuts. This left a lot of "high end" machine shops with idle CNC machines and engineers left with time to develop new parts for their newfound hobby.

The end result was CNC'd MTB Parts out of 6061 and 7075 Aluminum. Parts that sometimes didn't survive... They broke.

That was then, this is NOW!

5DEV Trail/Enduro Cranks are engineered, designed, programmed and cut in the USA out of 7075 Aluminum. We use advanced CAD Software as well as ISO Testing as well as test riders. Max Mitchell is one of our test riders. We think he fits the bill. He's an absolute beast on a bike.
