We thought we were ready for anything — raincoats, waterproof camera gear, and even spare clothes. But guess what? Milford Sound had other plans. 😂

The day started with cloudy and a little rain, but halfway into the trip the weather did what Milford Sound does best — turned into a full‑blown waterfall from the sky! 🌧️💦 Cannot go to the deck and enjoy the views because the rain was hard and wind full blows. Our kids rather to play with gadgets and stay warm inside the boat… it was chaos, but the fun kind!

In this vlog, we laugh through our “gear mishaps” and share what actually worked — and what didn’t — when it comes to staying (somewhat) dry in New Zealand’s wildest fjord. We actually see some seal, but sadly there's no penguin or dolphins.

Bring quick‑dry pants and spare socks for everyone.

Use waterproof phone pouches & camera covers.

Take the afternoon cruises after 3 PM — lighter crowds and you might save on parking!

Speaking of parking… yes, we paid 50 NZD just for parking! 😭

Despite the rain, rarely seeing the mountains, and getting completely soaked, it was still one of our most unforgettable family adventures in New Zealand 🇳🇿💙
