My Friend Dahmer does a lot to humanize Dahmer, showing his journey from shy loner to surprisingly popular class clown. His mother's struggles with mental health and poor parenting are also explored. These factors likely contributed to Dahmer's crippling insecurity and shyness, which along with his extreme desire for closeness and human intimacy led to his horrific crimes.

My name's Jayson Markey and I review movies and albums, recap TV shows and react to trailers and music videos! My Friend Dahmer is a 2017 biographical film directed by Marc Meyers about the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. It is based on the 2012 graphic novel of the same name by cartoonist John "Derf" Backderf, who had been friends with Dahmer in high school. The film stars Ross Lynch, Alex Wolff, Dallas Roberts, and Anne Heche. This is my review / analysis of the psychology of the psychopath / sociopath Dahmer (was not a sadist), explaining his motive and why he did it, his modus operandi, whether his mother's mental health issues and borderline personality disorder and abusive upbringing and bad parenting contributed to it, how his shyness and abandonment issues and homosexuality factored in (not racism), and whether or not he had a conscience or was pure evil.
