Interview with Slash from Guns N' Roses. Saul Hudson, professionally known as Slash, was born on July 23, 1965, in Hampstead, London. Moving to Los Angeles at the age of five, he earned the nickname "Slash" during his childhood. Slash rose to prominence as the lead guitarist of the hard rock band Guns N' Roses, achieving global success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Widely acclaimed, he is recognized as one of the greatest guitarists in history.

His musical journey began with Hollywood Rose in 1983, and he later joined Guns N' Roses in 1985, replacing Tracii Guns. In 1994, amid internal tensions, Slash formed the supergroup Slash's Snakepit. In 1996, disagreements with Axl Rose led to his departure from Guns N' Roses. In 2002, he co-founded Velvet Revolver, revitalizing his mainstream success. Slash has released five solo albums, starting with "Slash" in 2010, followed by "Apocalyptic Love" (2012), "World on Fire" (2014), "Living the Dream" (2018), and "4" (2022), the latter credited to "Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators." He rejoined Guns N' Roses in 2016.

Slash's influence extends beyond his band affiliations. Time magazine recognized him as the runner-up among "The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players" in 2009. Rolling Stone ranked him 65th on "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" in 2011. His guitar solo in "November Rain" was placed sixth on Guitar World's "The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos" list in 2008. Moreover, his riff in "Sweet Child o' Mine" topped Total Guitar's "The 100 Greatest Riffs" in 2004. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted him in 2012 as part of Guns N' Roses' classic lineup. Slash's contributions continue to be celebrated by various music publications and organizations.
