Italian Motorcycle Track Racing Series in action at Mugello Circuit: Raw sound, Accelerations & More

Last weekend I attended a full weekend of motorcycle races here in Italy. It was my first time I experienced and recorded the two wheels from track-side, in the same way I've been used to with cars in the last decade. And I have to say, I really enjoyed it!

Held in the beautiful Mugello Circuit, the event was the third round of the 2024 Dunlop CIV, acronym for Campionato Italiano Velocità (which translates into 'Italian Speed Championship'), which includes the most important Italian track series from superbikes to categories for young talents, as well as some extra and one-make championships.

Some of the official series present were:
Superbike, the highest category of the CIV
Supersport 600 Next Generation, perhaps my favorite class with lots of entries and screaming Japanese engines
Supersport 300, a championship open to bike like the Kawasaki Ninja 400 or the Yamaha YZF-R3
Moto3, which for CIV uses a 450cc engine from the Yamaha YZ450F MY2022, compared to the 250cc used in the World Championship Moto3
PreMoto3, a one-make series which uses the Honda NSF250R MR03

Others series at this round were:
National Trophy 1000, with lots of superbikes
Kawasaki Ninja Trophy, reserved for Kawasaki's little 4-cylinder bike, the Ninja ZX-4R
Trofeo Aprilia RS 660, one-make series of the great Italian sportsbike
Yamaha R7 Cup, a championship for the YZF-R7 with a “gentleman rider” formula
