My brother and I just started our Squatober journey, and it's only been one day of spooky fun! We're going to be sharing these hauntingly good workouts all through October, so get ready for a ghoulishly great time!
What is Squatober?
Squatober is a free online fitness program created by Aaron Ausmus, a strength coach from the University of Southern California, in partnership with Sorinex, a fitness equipment company. The idea is pretty simple: you do squats five days a week, along with some upper-body exercises to maintain strength and muscle.
On some days, you also include deadlifts or bench presses right after squats, which can help you lift more weight and set personal records.
Here's how it works: The daily workouts are posted one day in advance on Instagram accounts like @soriex_squatober or @penandpaperstrengthapp, complete with instructions on how to do each exercise.
