🌑 Dakshina Kalika Stotram – English Verses
1.
O slender-bellied, mighty Chandika, with flowing hair and love for sacrifice divine,
Joyful in sacred family rites, beloved of Shankara, I bow at Thy feet sublime.
2.
O fierce-toothed, deep-eyed Goddess, whose music fills the worlds with sound,
Who roars like thunder across the heavens — to Thee, O Mind-Dweller, I bow down.
3.
Radiant like the red Bandhuka flower, O Tripura, destroyer of fear and pain,
Bringer of fortune and dawn of fate, to Thee, O Fair One, I bow again.
4.
Victory to Thee, O Mother of worlds, O Tripura, O threefold Deity divine,
Bestower of boons upon devotees, slayer of Mahishasura — I bow at Thy shrine.
5.
Destroyer of dreadful obstacles, nourisher of sacred ways,
O boon-giving Goddess adorned with skulls, to Thee my homage always.
6.
Bathed in streams of crimson blood, with garlands and ornaments bright,
Remover of all obstacles, beloved of Bhairava, to Thee I bow in light.
7.
O Dakshina form of Kali divine, O Tripura Bhairavi,
Dark as crushed collyrium, Thou restest upon the body of death fearlessly.
8.
From Thy smiling lotus-face flows a stream of shining red,
With full and rising breasts of power, to Thee, fierce Dakshina, I bow my head.
9.
With eyes crimson and tranquil, gleaming like bees in play,
Crowned with twin corpses, intoxicated in bliss — to Thee I humbly pray.
10.
Wearing fifty skulls in a garland, glowing red upon Thy frame,
Adorned with countless gems and jewels — to Thee, whom Brahma praises by name.
11.
With bracelets of bone and conch, Thy form adorned and pure,
Mounted upon the chest of a corpse, to Thee whom Vishnu does adore.
12.
Who feasts upon the flesh of corpses, laughing loud in death’s dance free,
Smiling with blissful lips again and again — O Shiva’s beloved, I bow to Thee.
13.
Holding sword and severed head, granting fearlessness and boon,
O fierce-toothed, terrible queen — my salutations to You soon.
14.
You are my refuge, O Supreme Mother, O Essence of Compassion bright,
Save me, O Chandanayike, destroyer of darkness and endless night.
15.
Salutations to Thee, O Kalika, tender-hearted toward devotees,
Remove my ignorance, grant wisdom’s light — O giver of divine abilities.
16.
Grant me speech in verse and prose, logic, grammar, knowledge vast,
Though unlearned I may be, O Dakshina Kali, make my wisdom last.
17.
Give me victory amidst assemblies, give me wealth when wealth is due,
Grant me long life, protect me always, O Kali, O Dakshina true.
18.
Bestow on me kingdom, fame, sons, wife, and wealth to stay,
And at the end of life, O Mother, grant liberation’s way.
19.
O Mangala, Bhairavi, Durga, Kalika, Queen of the gods on high,
Uma, Haimavati, Kanya, Kalyani, Bhairaveshvari — to Thee I cry.
20.
Kali, Brahmi, Maheshi, Kaumari, and Vaishnavi divine,
Varahi, Vasavi, Chandi — sages chant Thy name all the time.
21.
Ugratara, Tara, Shiva, Ekajata, Lokottara too,
Kali art Thou — ever praised by saints so true.
22.
As Kali, Tara, Chhinnamasta, and Kulluka Thee they know,
One form yet fourfold in nature, O Kalika, ages ago.
23.
Single, double, triple in form, infinite in manifestation’s art,
Through countless limbs and countless names, Kalika — Mother of every heart.
24.
Even Shiva with five faces cannot describe Thy might,
Forgive this humble hymn, O Giver of Boons, so bright.
25.
Protect my life, my honor, my sons, my wealth, my days,
At all times, in every place, O Dakshina Kali, bless my ways.
26.
Whoever worships and chants this hymn, by day or night’s embrace,
Shall gain wealth, grain, and children too — of this there’s no doubt or trace.
