Galera is a Spanish town and municipality located in the southern part of the Huéscar region, in the province of Granada. It borders the municipalities of Huéscar, Orce, Cúllar and Castilléjar.
The Galerino municipality includes the population centers of Galera — municipal capital—, La Alquería, Cortijos del Cura and Buenavista. Its environment is made up of landscapes as diverse as the fertile fields of crops, watered by rivers and springs, and the semi-arid and empty landscapes of the wastelands, full of fossil remains and historical vestiges of the past. In its urban area there are numerous cave-houses, traditional from the Southeast and Murcia regions.
