❤️ 2025 - 2026 Prayer Points
Beloved,
We thank God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ for having brought us through another year filled with His goodness and mercy. There are many victories that we can testify to and many that we cannot, because He never allowed them to come near.
The calendar does not always align with our ideals, and this year is no different. We are going to have our beginning of year prayer back into 2025 so we take advantage of the 1st week of the year before schedules make focus difficult and while hopefully families are still together so we can unite in faith and focus. We will thank God and wrap up 2025 together as well as start 2026 together. Glory be to God!
The Lord as He ordained the priesthood gives us a shadow (Hebrews 8:3-5) of how to approach the presence of God our Father. Leviticus 21 details some of this for us. He had to wash and make sure he carried no blemish. Likewise we need to pray Psalm 51 for a clean heart before God. Without a clean heart, we are at risk of impure motives and selfish goals (James 4:1-4).
When we add fasting to our prayers as we are doing, Joel 1:14 & Joel 2:15 let us know that we don't just stumble into a fast. We sanctify, consecrate or dedicate the fast as we begin. This means that we give the time and purpose to the Lord, how are we going to fast and what we hope to obtain out of the fast. Is this a prayer of repentance (Jonah 3: 5-9; I Kings 21:27-29) or deliverance (Esther 4:15 ; II Chronicles 20:3) or just thanksgiving (Acts 13:1-3) ... It is important that we do this as we are entering into the fast because that is what the Lord will respond to (Daniel 10:12)
Below are the common goals that we will be covering during this fast (feel free to add any personal goals which you can share or keep private as you see fit).
Wisdom, direction and guidance. Proverbs 4:7-9.
Wisdom for what to engage in and what not to (direction).
Wisdom to reflect on the things that you do not need, what can trip or oppose you and God's purpose for you.
Where and how to serve in the house of God - (James 1:25).
Divine help Psalm 127:1-2, Psalm 20:1-2 and I Chronicles 12: 17-22.
