📖 Day 17 — Separation from God: The Cost of Not Abiding



Today we confront a sober and weighty reality of the Christian walk:



What happens when a person refuses to abide in Christ?



📖 Scripture Focus

John 15:6

“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”



Jesus speaks plainly.

Separation from Him is not sudden—it is progressive, but it is also inevitable when abiding ceases.

Disconnection always leads to withering, and withering ultimately leads to loss.

📜 Psalm 51:6–10

“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts… Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”



➡️ God is not merely concerned with outward appearance, but with inward truth and intimacy.

Separation often begins in the heart—when truth is resisted and repentance is delayed.



📜 2 Timothy 4:1–3

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires… they will turn their ears away from the truth.”



➡️ One of the clearest signs of drifting from God is the rejection of sound doctrine.

When people no longer want truth, they create distance from the God of truth.
