Taylor Swift's Viral Chai Sugar Cookies

Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists so I decided to make her viral chai sugar cookies and see what the hype is about :) Let know if you guys have tried out this recipe before and what you thought of it down below in the comments. Happy baking!

Taylor Swift's Chai Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cups all-purpose flour

Icing Ingredients:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2-3 tablespoon milk (she used egg nog but I just used milk)

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, mix the butter and oil until combined. Add the granulated sugar and powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
4. Add the cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, allspice, cloves, and nutmeg to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
5. Add the baking soda and salt to the flour and mix. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined.
6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
7. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. To make the icing, mix the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and milk together in a small bowl. Drizzle the icing over the cooled cookies.
10. Allow the icing to set before serving.
