On this occasion, he conveyed a special message from Chairman MQM Pakistan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, to the participants.
Chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan and Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, visited the ongoing International Book Fair at the Expo Centre Karachi. Speaking to media representatives afterward, he stated that the country is currently facing a serious education crisis, and the fact that more than 25 million children are out of school is a national tragedy that can no longer be ignored. He emphasized that the time has come to immediately declare an education emergency across the country so that the future of coming generations can be safeguarded. He added that the younger generation must move away from excessive internet dependence and return to books and awareness.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stressed that Karachi is not only the economic engine of Pakistan but also a cradle of knowledge and literature. The development and progress of this city, he said, is in fact the development of the entire country. He further stated that major projects are being launched at the federal level to equip Karachi’s youth with modern IT and digital skills.

Responding to journalists’ questions, he said that without political stability, no educational or economic reforms can yield positive results. He urged the nation to abandon the politics of division and adopt the path of national unity. He added that the large public participation in the book fair is proof that Karachi remains deeply connected to books and knowledge, and that this very awareness will lead the country out of darkness and toward enlightenment.

On this occasion, members of the Central Committee of MQM Pakistan, Haq Parast Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Ali Khurshidi, and members of parliament were also present with him.
