A reorchestration of the Life in The Mines level theme from Donkey Kong Country. It was originally composed by David Wise, and therefore all rights go to him and Rare Ltd.
Another really interesting piece, yet again perfectly managing to completely nail the thematic vibe intended all in an audio format. The use of those looped sound effects as a sort of percussive ambience really helps to nail the whole cavern/mine/underground feel and that solo flute melody really drives home just how alone you are in such a massive space. Sorrowful, but with just enough of a hint of hope at the end - and really reinforced when the kit comes in, helping to drive the piece forward, much like the player. Onward through the gloom.
