Telangana Style Fish Curry
Ingredients:-
Korrameenu Fish / Murrel fish - 1kg
Oil - 3 tb spn
Mustard- 1/2 tsp
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Dried Red Chillies- 3
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Onion- 2
Dry Coconut Powder- 2 tb spn
Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tb spn
Tamarind Juice - 1 cup(lemon size tamarind)
Red Chilli Powder- 2 tb spn
Coriander powder- 1 tb spn
Garam masala - 1 tsp(optional)
Salt - To Taste
Water - As Required
Coriander leaves- Handful
Method:-
In a large pan add oil, mustard, cumin , red chillies & curry leaves, then add chopped onion, salt & saute it till translucent. Then add dry Coconut powder & cook for 2 mins.
Now add turmeric, ginger garlic paste & cook for 1-2 minutes. Then add tamarind pulp, chilli powder, coriander powder & water. Bring this to a vigorous boil & add fish .
Boil it for 5 minutes & simmer it for 5 more minutes. Then switch off the flame & rest it for 1 hour. Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve it after 2-3 hours with hot rice
