The former William Penn High School building has long been vacant since it was disused as a high school in the 1970s and later as a VoTech school during the 2010-2011 school year.

Since then, the former high school has been the site of numerous break-ins, vandalism, and arson, including a fire late last year that damaged one section of a building so significantly that it required demolition that is ongoing.
the building lacks electricity and plumbing, the windows, doors and roof are highly deteriorated, water has heavily infiltrated throughout the building, and the HVAC system does not work.

In 2024, the building was cleaned out and known asbestos removed.

Additional asbestos was found beyond the scope of that project, but not removed due to additional costs and unofficial plans for building.

Thank you Just Creeping it Real for the Tour around the School as it was very nostalgic for you. Very happy to document this place for all to enjoy especially when this place gets demolished, if it does.
