Retracing the Hole in the Rock Expedition's Path on UTVs
The Hole in the Rock Trail is legendary among Utah's pioneer history. In 1879, over 200 people left Cedar City to settle the Blanding and Bluff area of Southern Utah. It was supposed to take six weeks, but instead became a six-month ordeal.
In this episode of KSL Outdoors, we retrace the Hole in the Rock Expedition's path using UTVs, to discover the hardships they faced while traveling over slickrock through canyon country with horse and wagon.
Along for the ride are our friends from Steadman's Recreation, and our guide, Josh Nielson from Sunrise Outfitters - Scenic Adventures. The day on the trail is full of thrills, intense landscapes, and incredible stories of survival and grit from over a century ago.
