Deondre Goodwin Serial Entrepreneur & Officer on being a Present father, Faith, Overcoming obstacles

Deondre "D5" Goodwin joins Dray Johnson on the NotPerfect Podcast to have a real, raw, inspirational, and motivating conversation. In this interview Deondre speaks on his upbringing. From the outside looking in you would have never expected him to pour out this type of raw truth. Deondre opens up about being the youngest of four but the most broken of the bunch, and being the only child in their household that did not know who their father was. This caused him much anger! He talks about how not having his biological made him vulnerable to accept anything that "seemed" like family because that was all he wanted.

Goodwin explained how being the youngest of four, growing up in the projects on the East Side of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and being on section 8 housing, not knowing his father affected him. From stealing, to begging, other actions that he did not say... All to survive as a young man. As Deondre gets comfortable in the interview he opens up about his relationship with his mother and being angry with her for years because of his father situation. Each time he spoke of anything regarding his mother he first and foremost let us know that he respects and love his mother and by no means is any of the disclosed information meant in a disrespectful manner. He stated that even after being passed around as child and not understanding the reasoning, it molded him into who he is today.

"Being raised by multiple men I soaked up a lot of game" Deondre stated. He speaks of a few different names and gives them their accolades for being in his corner and showing him "the game". With such a rough childhood Mr.Deondre D5 Goodwin has surpassed the average individual who came from a two parent household and that had what you would call a good upbringing. He owns a barbershop, car detail shop, and a restaurant. He's also a police officer and a father of 4 boys. Dray Johnson asked "How do you balance being a multi business owner, a police, and a father?" Goodwin replied; "I just do it, my brain is just wired to do it". Deondre explains how finding out about his first child changed his mind about EVERYTHING. With him now having his father he felt as if "IT WAS HIS TIME TO SHINE", and he's been doing just that.

Even with having such a heavy drive and multiple businesses Deondre states that its a must that he take time and explain LIFE to his children, and the importance of respecting both MOM and DAD. From a young angry fatherless(biological) kid, who never cared to listen.. the kid who lived in survival mode, to the young man who's now thriving in entrepreneurship, as a father, police officer, and a man of Faith in God! Deondre's story and testimony will change lives!
