A shooting in the Kandana area this morning left one person dead and another injured, police have confirmed.

According to reports, Sameera Manahara who served as the PR officer to late politician Mangala Samaraweera was wounded in the incident.

An individual identified as Upali Kulawardena, who was traveling with Manahara, died from his injuries at Ragama Hospital.

Investigations are underway to track down the suspects.
