Sozopol is known for its rich history, beautiful beaches and preserved ancient architecture. In Sozopol you can visit beaches with fine sand, such as Harmanite Beach and the central beach of Sozopol. Sozopol has roots dating back to ancient times, originally founded as a Greek settlement called Apollonia. The city is known for its ancient churches, such as the 9th century Church of St. Jesuit. The city is also home to a number of festivals, such as the Apollonia Arts Festival, which celebrates culture and art. The old town of Sozopol is characterized by narrow streets, traditional wooden houses with stone foundations and picturesque squares.
The area is suitable for water sports, diving and nature trips.
