TROSTBURG CASTEL || Ponte Gardena || Bolzano

Un altro bellissimo castello, visitato in occasione della breve vacanza per il ponte dell'8 dicembre con i miei amici ‪@SalMacProduction‬ e ‪@MaicoFpv‬ .
T - Il maestoso Castel Trostburg, o Castel Forte, a Ponte Gardena in Valle Isarco ospita oggi il Museo dei Castelli dell’Alto Adige.
Castel Trostburg, situato su un'altura sopra il paese di Ponte Gardena, è uno dei più grandiosi complessi fortificati dell'Alto Adige. La storia della rocca risale al XII secolo, quando venne menzionata per la prima volta nel 1173 come sede di un "Cunrat de Trosperch" (Konrad di Trostberg), discendente dai Signori di Castelrotto. Nel 1290, i Conti del Tirolo acquistarono la struttura dai Signori di Velturno, i quali di seguito impegnarono questa ai Signori von Wolkenstein. E proprio quest'ultimi, proprietari del castello per oltre 600 anni, ampliarono autorevolmente il castello facendo aggiungere grandi e signorili spazi di rappresentanza.
Durante questo periodo, il famoso menestrello Oswald von Wolkenstein visse nel castello (1377 - 1445). Tra il XIV ed il XVI secolo, la struttura venne ampliata considerevolmente. Nel XVII secolo, il castello venne ulteriormente ampliato per volere del barone Engelhard Dietrich von Wolkenstein, al quale si deve anche l'aspetto rinascimentale dell'edificio. Nel 1981, Castel Trostburg è entrato in possesso dell'Istituto dei Castelli dell'Alto Adige, salvandolo così dalla rovina. Quest'associazione si impegna per conservare il carattere ed il fascino unico del castello e contemporaneamente di permettere l'accesso al pubblico. Dal 2005, il castello ospita il Museo dei Castelli dell'Alto Adige.
Il complesso è ben conservato, grazie anche agli impegnativi lavori di ristrutturazione. All'interno potrai vedere elementi dall'età romanica a quella barocca, come finestre e porte ad arco, cammini di ronda gotici, sale pompose, pannellature del XVI e XVII secolo, e opere di stucco e mobili rinascimentali. E come lo si raggiunge? Il castello è accessibile solo a piedi: il Sentiero Trostburg conduce da Ponte Gardena (parcheggio) lungo un sentiero lastricato dell'epoca medioevale in 15 minuti al castello. Via Burgfrieden invece è meno ripida, ma anche più lunga.

EN - The majestic Trostburg Castle, or Forte Castle, in Ponte Gardena in the Isarco Valley today houses the South Tyrolean Castle Museum.
Trostburg Castle, located on a hill above the village of Ponte Gardena, is one of the most magnificent fortified complexes in South Tyrol. The history of the fortress dates back to the 12th century, when it was mentioned for the first time in 1173 as the seat of a "Cunrat de Trosperch" (Konrad of Trostberg), descendant of the Lords of Castelrotto. In 1290, the Counts of Tyrol purchased the structure from the Lords of Velturno, who subsequently pledged it to the Lords von Wolkenstein. And it was precisely the latter, owners of the castle for over 600 years, who authoritatively expanded the castle by adding large and stately reception rooms.
During this period, the famous minstrel Oswald von Wolkenstein lived in the castle (1377 - 1445). Between the 14th and 16th centuries, the castle was significantly expanded. In the 17th century, the castle was further expanded by order of Baron Engelhard Dietrich von Wolkenstein, who also gave the building its Renaissance appearance. In 1981, Trostburg Castle came into the possession of the South Tyrolean Castle Institute, thus saving it from ruin. This association is committed to preserving the castle's unique character and charm while at the same time making it accessible to the public. Since 2005, the castle has been home to the South Tyrolean Castle Museum.
The complex is well preserved, thanks also to the demanding renovation work. Inside you can see elements from the Romanesque to the Baroque period, such as arched windows and doors, Gothic patrol paths, pompous rooms, 16th and 17th century paneling, and Renaissance stucco work and furniture. And how do you get there? The castle is accessible only on foot: the Trostburg Trail leads from Ponte Gardena (parking lot) along a paved path from the Middle Ages in 15 minutes to the castle. Via Burgfrieden, on the other hand, is less steep, but also longer.
