Shellac is a time honored and traditional finish that is easy to apply and gives an instrument a very nice aged look. Amber tone shellac applied to a piece of furniture or an instrument will instantly age it's appearance by 30 years or more, and will impart a warm glow that only shellac can provide. I show the finish on several species of wood and discuss the basics about shellac, application, and finishing.
