Recently, when visiting the construction site of Huajiang Gorge Bridge, builders were working in an orderly manner at high altitude, speeding up the assembly of steel beams.

"At present, the lower structure of the Huajiang Gorge Bridge has been completed, and the upper structure is under construction. Among them, the main cable erection and cable clamp installation have been completed, two-thirds of the suspension cable installation has been completed, and more than two-thirds of the steel beam assembly has been completed." Wang Songyu, deputy manager of the Lu'an Expressway Section 8 project of Guizhou Bridge Group, introduced that the project officially started in mid-January 2022 with a total construction period of 3 and a half years. Currently, 75% of the overall construction progress has been completed and it is expected to be opened to traffic in the second half of 2025.

“目前，花江峡谷大桥下部构造已全部完成，上部构造正在施工中。其中，主缆架设及索夹安装已全部完成，吊索安装完成了三分之二，钢梁拼装也完成了三分之二以上。”贵州桥梁集团六安高速八标项目副经理王淞钰介绍，项目于2022年1月中旬正式开工，总工期3年半，当前已完成总体施工进度的75％，预计将在2025年下半年实现通车。
据介绍，花江峡谷大桥造价约22亿元，是六安高速公路的关键控制性工程，全长2890米，桥墩最大高度262米，主桥为跨径1420米的钢桁梁悬索桥，建成后跨径居同类型桥梁世界第二十一位、山区桥梁跨径世界第一；桥面至水面高度为625米，建成后将成为世界第一高桥。

It is 2,890 meters long and the maximum height of the bridge piers is 262 meters. The main bridge is a steel truss suspension bridge with a span of 1,420 meters. After completion, the span will rank 21st in the world for bridges of the same type and first in the world for mountain bridges. The height from the bridge deck to the water surface is 625 meters. After completion, it will become the world's tallest bridge

"In addition to the conventional traffic function, this bridge is also divided into two parts to develop tourism formats." Wang Songyu said that on the one hand, a 200-meter vertical sightseeing elevator, a stargazing water bar, a glass sightseeing hall, a landscape cultural corridor and other tourism formats were built on the bridge, and a light show and water curtain landscape were also made to enhance the playability. On the other hand, relying on the bridge tourism resources, with the Yundu service area near the bridge as the central scenic area, cliff villa hotels, camping areas, starry sky cabins, RV hotels and other functional areas were built to enrich the bridge-tourism integration format and meet the diversified needs of tourists.

As a key project of bridge-tourism integration in Guizhou, the Huajiang Gorge Bridge-Tourism Integration Project has been launched simultaneously. After completion, it will become a bridge-tourism integration complex integrating "bridge sightseeing + bridge sports experience + tourism services". At that time, it will effectively drive the development of industries with tourism as the core in surrounding villages and make contributions to rural revitalization

The Huajiang Canyon Bridge (Chinese: 花江峡谷大桥), is a suspension bridge under construction in Guizhou province, China. The bridge crosses the Beipan River as it passes through the deep Huajiang Canyon. Upon completion, it will be the world's highest bridge, measuring 625 metres (2,051 ft) from the bridge deck to the bottom of the gorge. It will surpass the current highest bridge, the Duge Bridge, which crosses the same river 200 kilometres (120 mi) upstream. The bridge is expected to be open in June 2025.
