India's first ever hanging bridge is 'Vidyasagar Setu' and the Vivekananda Setu, which is famous as Second Hooghly Bridge in India and the World. It is connecting twin city 'Kolkata' and 'Howrah'. The bridge is being maintained by the H.R.B.C (Hooghly River Bridge Commission) in good manner. From this bridge, one can catch widest scenic view of beautiful city of joy Kolkata along with Victoria Memorial, Eden Gardens, Fort William, T.A.T.A Center, sky catching Chattered International, Shahid Minar, Esplanade, Princep Ghat, Howrah Bridge, Hooghly dock and Nabanna.
This is a toll bridge over river Hooghly, connecting Howrah and allied places with Kolkata, India. It is an 823 meters long, cable-stayed bridge, opened for vehicular traffic in 1992.
This is really a huge structure and can be visible mostly from building tops of South Kolkata.
It gives fantastic photo opportunities due to its superb structure, surroundings, and beautiful lighting at night. Also it beautifies Kolkata skyline and has etched itself permanently in that sense amongst other notable monuments in Kolkata like, Victoria memorial, Cathedral and Howrah Bridge. You can see Howrah Bridge from Vidyasagar Setu and vice versa.
It has Rs 10/ toll on the Howrah approach side, for small cars and the toll is progressively higher for vehicles with more axles. No phone number is available for this attraction.
