Drought is a way of life in central Chad. Malnutrition is widespread, but thousands of children here are getting a shot at a better life. Donor support, such as from European Commission's Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO), has helped to open more than 200 treatment centers to shore up the government's fragile health system. To make sure the centers work at their best, Unicef has strengthened its offices across the region, including here in Mongo, in central Chad.
