In this video I’m tackling one of the most asked questions I get about my self-built VW Crafter camper van – how much does it weigh, and what happens if your camper van is overweight? 🚐⚖️

I’ll show you exactly what we did when we discovered our van was overweight, why it’s such a serious issue (think fines, being uninsured, or even having your van impounded 😬), and the full process of how we fixed it. From visiting a weighbridge and calculating payload, to using lightweight build materials, and finally up-plating the van to a higher maximum authorised mass, I’ll cover every step we took.
