Ethnic Dance Chicago @ 2012 Verea Bulgarian Festival in Chicago

On Saturday, March 31, 2012, The Verea BG Folk Dance Club hosted a their 2nd Annual Verea Bulgarian Festival Concert. The 2012 concert was held at Taft High School in Chicago.

Many Bulgarian groups were invited to perform, including Bulgari (Montreal), Bulgarian Spirit (St Louis), Dimitrovche (Toronto), Nashencheta (Chicago), Antika (San Francisco), Horo (Chicago), Friends of Bulgarian Dance (Detroit) and Verea (Chicago).

Ethnic Dance Chicago was honored to be invited to be on the stage with this group of performers as representing the American International Folk Dance Movement. EDC performed a Kopanica to the music of Zyia -- a California-based Ethnic Dance Orchestra.

Dancers included George & Diana Davis, Carol Cohn, Dit Olshan, Fran Gilbert, Mara Kins, Bill Dolnick, Tom Doukas, Sue Scheffler-Ellis and Paul Collins.

Ethnic Dance Chicago (EDC) is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational community of people who enjoy the dances and music of many countries and ethnic groups from around the world. As our motto indicates, we enjoy "Dancing As A Second Language". Ethnic Folk Dancing is a great social mixer and aerobic workout.

EDC meets on Friday evenings in Chicago and is open to the public.
