...Source: Transcript: Per InsideEVs, Kia has confirmed it will reveal its smallest electric vehicle yet—the EV2—on January 9 at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. Slotted below the EV3, this compact SUV is designed specifically for the European market and will be produced in Slovakia, with production ramping up through 2026.
The EV2 will offer two battery options: a lower-cost LFP pack and a long-range version using NMC cells. While smaller than the 58 to 81 kWh packs in the EV3, it’s expected to beat competitors like the Hyundai Inster, whose biggest battery offers just 49 kWh. Built on Kia’s E-GMP platform, the EV2 isn’t adapted from a gas-powered car, so it should offer better range and functionality than some of its rivals.
As for pricing, it’s expected to start around $34,800 in Europe, which may raise eyebrows considering its size, though it should offer a roomier back seat and better charging performance than similar options like the Renault 4.
Kia also plans to unveil GT performance versions of the EV3, EV4, and EV5 at the same show—no word yet on a GT model for the EV2, but it may come later.
