The Swindon & Cricklade Railway held a gala on the weekends on June 12th & 13th and June 19th & 20th as part of the GWR 175 celebrations. This event saw four visiting ex-Great Western locomotives and the first public services on the southern extension towards Swindon in the form of an Auto-coach service representing a typical great western branch line scene. There were also fairground rides, cab visits to Andrew Barclay 0-6-0ST 'Salmon' and 'Driver for a Fiver' where you could drive Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0ST 'Slough Estates No.3' up and down the yard at Hayes Knoll. At the end of the first day all six engines in steam were coupled up and formed a cavalcade which ran from Hayes Knoll through Blunsdon and up to the end of the southern extension and back.
