The ICOMOS General Assembly 2023 will welcome heritage professionals from across the world to share skills and experiences, debate contemporary heritage issues, discuss innovative practices and pose outcomes for the future of heritage.
Kamay Botany Bay National Park is a place of immerse significance to Australian Aboriginal communities for thousands of years. This place is central to Australia’s post-contact history as the site of contact in 1770 between Aboriginal Australians and the crew of the HMB Endeavour. The 250th Anniversary of this event was commemorated in 2020 with a series of sculptures that acknowledges the rich history of this place. We welcome Noeleen Timbery who explains the national significance of this place for Australia’s Aboriginal community, their story and early contact with the crew of the HMB Endeavour in 1770.
Kamay Botany Bay National Park is managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, a Strategic Partner of the GA2023. Please visit at our website for more information https://icomosga2023.org
