Killswitch Engage is an American metalcore band formed in Westfield, Massachusetts, in 1999. Renowned for their blend of heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and emotionally charged lyrics, the band is a pioneer of the modern metalcore movement. The lineup consists of Jesse Leach (vocals), Adam Dutkiewicz (guitar and backing vocals), Joel Stroetzel (guitar), Mike D'Antonio (bass), and Justin Foley (drums).

The band gained critical acclaim with their 2002 album Alive or Just Breathing, which featured their now-signature mix of aggression and melody.
