A bit late in the day, but here's a hurdy-gurdy tune for #VielleVendredi while my bolognese sauce is simmering on the stove (and with "un vin qui tache" as the French would say). "Plant Un Cao" is a classic schottische of the French balfolk repertoire, hailing originally from the Auvergne region where the name means "Plante un chou" (Plant a Cabbage) I think in the Auvergnat dialect.
Great tune that we first learned from my dad's friends Michel et Nicole Raibon from the little village of St-Hilaire-du-Touvet in Eastern France. We also heard it play a lot by Ad Vielle Que Pourra. We've been playing it for years, but it took me a WHILE to learn this one on the hurdy-gurdy; it's kind of hard. I definitely messed up on the last part, but otherwise I think my hurdy gurdy playing is coming along ok!
