Strength: Beyond the Barbell

Strength: Beyond the Barbell is a short documentary film I made for a sport media module in my final year at Durham University. It was an exploration of the mentality and perseverance required to participate in and train for the strength sports of Powerlifting, Olympic Weightlifting and Strongman. It was the first time I have ever put a video together and an experience I particularly enjoyed; after all venting your creativity is always fun! I hope people enjoy it and please feel free to give me some feedback on what you liked and disliked. Also check out my channel for other videos of lifters and athletes, i'm going to keep practicing and refining the art of making short films!

The athletes featured include: Dave Tate, Brandon Lilly, George Leeman, Pete Rubish, Ilya Ilin, Donny Shankle, Jon North and Dmitry Klokov.
