CURSE of Moreton Corbet Castle The screaming ruins was an amazing paranormal place and the ghostly activity was amazing to.. It was so creepy, and we definitely cant some amazing REAL paranormal evidence.. The ruins themselves were beautiful and defiantly creepy at night .. But i loved the ghostly experience and i will defiantly be returning to see if their realy is a portal to hell there
we asked for responses and got them .. We knocked the walls and got ghostly knocks back.. i truly believe there is somthing to this ancient place and i'm defiantly entreated to know if the curse is real..

(the cursed tale)
When Sir Robert Corbet died of the plague in 1583, his brother Sir Vincent took on the building of Moreton Corbet Castle. England was politically unsettled and Puritans were being persecuted for their perceived threat to the Church of England. While Sir Vincent was not himself a Puritan, he gave sanctuary to a neighbour who was: a man named Paul Holmyard. Unfortunately, as Holmyard's views grew more radical, Sir Vincent felt he could no longer offer protection to the man and cast him out.
Holmyard wandered in the woods for a while, surviving, it's said, by eating whatever he could find. But when it all became too desperate he made his way back to Moreton Corbet where he confronted Sir Vincent, cursed the family and declared that none of them, or their descendants, would ever inhabit the house.

"Woe unto thee, hard hearted man, the lord has hardened thy heart as he hardened the heart of the Pharaoh, to thine own destruction.

"Rejoice not in thy riches, not in monuments of thy pride, for neither thou, nor thy children, nor thy children's children shall inhabit these halls.

"They shall be given up to desolation; snakes, vipers and unclean beasts shall make it their refuge, and thy home shall be full of doleful creatures.."
– Paul Holmyard's curse

It is claimed that the Puritan's curse was fulfilled, with it being said that neither Vincent nor his son, Andrew, lived at the castle because they were too afraid of the curse. Future generations of the family did, however, live in the grand house. It was in the 18th century that the castle was eventually abandoned as a residence, with it becoming roofless soon afterwards. Today, the Corbet family still own the castle, although the site is managed by the charitable organisation English Heritage.

Holmyard's curse supposedly had another affect on Moreton Corbet Castle. It is said that the curse forever bound his soul to the site. According to local folklore, on moonlit nights the spectral figure of Paul Holmyard can be seen wandering the castle's empty walls – his way of making sure no one lives there and that his wish for "desolation" is fulfilled
