Neurotypicals measure vibes, not details. Use this to your advantage…

In this video I discuss my understanding of the #neurotypical dialect. It is based on my experiences, observations, and reflections. I’m optimistic that a better understanding of the neurotypical dialect can (paradoxically) help us #mask LESS.

In this video I focus on the idea that neurotypicals speak in terms of vibes, not information. Let’s use this to our advantage…

✔️ Answer in ways that are sweet and short
🚫 Avoid details unless they are asked for

🤔Why sweet? It’s important to tell NTs how they should feel about the information you share with them. You might need to tell them how to feel about the information you’re sharing before actually delivering it. For example:

What’s great is that…insert facts/figures
It’s even better because…insert facts/figures

Just telling them information, or neutrally describing something, cofuses them. If they feel confused about you, they will react negatively toward you. Confusion = threat, danger, bad.

🤔 Why short? To the NT ear, details sound like an attempt to gain their approval, an attempt to justify, or an attempt to seek validation. This will make them feel superior to you and they will slowly begin treating you as less than, or won’t take you seriously. (They won’t realize they are doing this. It will feel like the natural order of things to them).

🌈 Doing these things will allow you to be brief (avoid chit-chat) while still leaving a positive “vibe”, allowing you to freely unmask in other ways.
