In this project, I built a simple car-driving A.I. using a genetic neural network in Unreal Engine 5. The goal was to train an A.I. agent that could complete a full lap around a track without any manual control, and eventually generalize to drive on tracks it wasn’t trained on.
The video covers the full process—from building the car and setting up the driving mechanics, to creating a fitness function, defining inputs and outputs for the neural network, and using selective breeding and mutation to evolve better drivers over generations.
