Neo ‘s feathers were falling out excessively and the little what he had left was of very poor quality so decided to scissor them all off and regrow - sometimes that can work really well , but also - once the hair “ dies “ it Worley come back to nice texture and quality - so needs to regrow - hence why the cutting them back can be a good option …. I’m using Kamisori 7.5’ Kumori Pro thinning shears from Canada ( ships worldwide ) and I have taken his feathers right back and slightly more at the back end and front legs than what shows in the video ) - to sort of make him look like a juvenile young dog who hasn’t grown in his feathers yet …. It’s also easy maintenance for pets ( rather than salon shave down ) for those who can’t cope well with long feathers … I hope you enjoy this video and it shows you how to trim back setter feathers - without it shaving them off
