We recorded two segments with the exact same gear, except that we switched the snare drum hoops in between takes. We used the Drum Dial to verify that the tension on the heads (Remo Coated and Hazy Ambassadors) was the same throughout. Both sets of hoops were modern triple flanged, neither original to the drum.
GEAR LIST: Noble & Cooley Walnut Classic 14" x 18" bass drum, 8" x 12" mounted tom, and 14" x 14" floor tom; Vintage Ludwig "Standard" 6.5" x 14" (solid shell maple) snare. Cymbals, from the drummer's left to right: Zildjian K 15" Light Hi Hats (1149 & 1354g) , Zildjian Kerope 19" Cymbal (1650g), and Zildjian Kerope 20" Cymbal (2051g). Vater Tim Alexander sticks.
