Initially I thought I was doing a painting that had two parts, but after doing a test pour, I only wanted to use the first set of colors. I did not use the Van Dyke Brown, or the Red Ochre.
Our story begins with Pricus, the king of the Sea Goats. He had the power to reverse time. He had a lot of children and as they got older they seem to be drawn to the shore and had a desire to go up on land and lay in the Sun. The Sea Goats were favored by the Gods, and could think and talk. But when they were up on land in the Sun for a long time, they lost their ability to think and talk and their fish fin became goat legs. Once they had back legs they could no longer return to the Sea. Pricus, their father, wasn't happy about losing his children so he reversed time to bring them back to the ocean. after this happened several times he realized he could not stop their destiny and he let them go. He was very sad and alone, and begged Chronos to kill him. Instead Chronos put him up in the Heavens as the Constellation Capricorn, so that even if his SeaGoat children were up on the top of the tallest mountain, he could still see them from the Stars.
I did a ring pour in the center of the canvas, and then a Wandering straight pour along the side. I tilted to cover the canvas, and then focused on composition. I really wanted the Payne's Gray with the lighter colors swirling around it.
I like how this one turned out, there are a lot of really beautiful details. I really like the Aged Bronze by Chroma Molten Metals, it's a beautiful very metallic color.
