You knew werewolves existed for years. Your childhood best friend was a werewolf. You'd seen her in wolf form a couple times too. But you never expected to be bitten. You weren't bitten by your friend, of course, she would never do that. You'd gone on a hike on a full moon, which turned out to be a really bad idea. You'd just wanted to take some pictures of the beautiful moon, but you ended up with a bite on your leg.
You hid it at first. You weren't entirely sure it was a werewolf, after all. You weren't going to panic until it was actually necessary. Well, it was definitely necessary.
You got sicker as the month went on. As the weeks went by, you grew more and more sure. You were going to turn on the next full moon.
You panicked. You did all the research you could on your own, trying to take it in stride and figure it out all by yourself. But by the time the full moon came along, you acknowledged that you were way out of your depth. You were scared. Of the pain of turning, of who you'd be in wolf form.
So you went to your friend. She had such control over her wolf that she could shift on command. You knew she'd be there for you, both in human form and wolf form.
