Nintendo Classics: Top 276 Games on Nintendo Switch Online (According to the Critics)

With the recent launch of the Switch 2, I decided that this would be a good time to go from system to system counting down the best and worst games on the Nintendo Classics app. To do this, we’re using the average scores from Electronic Gaming Monthly, GamePro, Next Generation, Computer & Video Games, Super Play, Hyper, Mean Machines, Nintendo Power and more classic magazines that reviewed these games when they first came out.

Over the last month, we’ve look at the top 66 Super NES games, the top 58 Nintendo Entertainment System games, the top 49 Genesis games, the top 39 Game Boy games, the top 38 Nintendo 64 games and even the top 22 Game Boy Advance games, so there’s really only one thing left to do – mix those lists together and add in the GameCube that are on Switch 2. That adds up to a total of 276 games, not including a handful of releases that weren’t reviewed for one reason or another. But even with a few missing titles, we have a massive list in store for you, including Mario, Kirby, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Street Fighter wannabes, epic role-playing games, monochromatic Mega Men, unnecessary sequels, action-packed first-person shooters, thrilling beat ‘em ups, early sports games, oddities that defy genre labels and games that pushed the limits of the hardware. It’s time to take an exhaustive trip through the Nintendo Switch Online as I countdown the top 276 games on Nintendo Classics ... according to the critics.
