A major tragedy unfolded at Yalamanchili Station in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh when the Tata–Ernakulam Express caught fire while running late on the night of December 28. The blaze erupted around 12:45 am in the B1 AC coach and quickly spread to the adjacent M2 coach, triggering panic among sleeping passengers.
